DESCRIPTION

This is an all-road run of 5-8 miles through the rolling foothills of the Fairplay region of El Dorado County. You'll see pastoral scenes of horses, cattle, and sheep grazing on the hillsides as well as rows of grape vines.
This is one of our Social Events during the year so we combine the run with a winery tour, a pot-luck picnic brunch, and a visit to a Christmas Tree farm.

This is definitely NOT a dog-friendly run

There are pit toilets at the trailhead then some useful shrubs about 2 miles in, past Lower Echo.

This is an all-road run.

Take Hwy 50 West to Pollock Pines. Exit at Sly Park Road. Turn Left onto Sly Park Road and go about 16 miles to Pleasant Valley. Make a Left onto Mt. Aukum Road (at Holiday Market) and go 6+ miles (through the stop sign at Somerset) to Gray's Corner. Turn Left onto Fair Play Road and turn Right into Pioneer Park about 1/10th of a mile up the road.
