| Running down the Powerline |
DESCRIPTION
The hills on this one will get your attention but the views from the powerline
are beautiful. Mostly hard-pack dirt or sandy trails, we have a variety of choices on
this one. A 7-mile loop down the powerline, along Trout Creek, then back up the hill
can be full of wildflowers in the spring and early summer. you dog will love the
opportunity to swim.
A 6-mile out-and-back along the powerline towards Heavenly
crosses Cold Creek then opens up in a few places with views of the lake. This is a very
popular bike trail.

Dog friendly and dog popular. Be aware that this is a popular dirt bike and mountain bike trail so
keep Rover in sight and under control.

No bathroom facilities but plenty of sheltered spots.

DIRECTIONS
Turn up (east) High Meadow Trail off of Pioneer Trail in South Lake Tahoe.
The turn is right at Sierra House School. Take High Meadow Trail all the way to the end
and park in the little paved lot at the gate, just where the asphalt ends
