SAGEBRUSH STOMPERS RUNNING CLUB
VISITORS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME! All ages and abilities. Training runs, fun runs, track workouts and adventure runs.
WHO WE ARE
The Sagebrush Stompers (SBSRC) and Tahoe Mountain Milers (TMMRC) Running Clubs invite and welcome you to come run with us. We are a running club with a split personality. Those members in Lake Tahoe call themselves the Tahoe Mountain Milers. Those in the valleys of Northern Nevada call themselves the Sagebrush Stompers. In the winter most of our joint club runs are held in the valleys. In the summer, most of our weekend runs are held in the mountains. The Lake Tahoe Basin and Carson Valley offer hundreds of miles of trail running with some of the most spectacular views on earth.
 The Sagebrush Stompers, founded in 1999, and the Tahoe Mountain Milers, founded in 1995, are both member clubs of the Road Runners Club of America and the Pacific Association of USA Track & Field. It is our goal to provide a wide cross-section of running opportunities for residents and visitors of Lake Tahoe and Carson City. SBSRC and TMMRC membership is open to all - slow, fast, beginners, veterans, low mileage, ultra runners, walkers or anyone who is interested in running and related health activities.
We offer a standing invitation to all locals and visitors alike to join us on one of our many diverse club runs, meetings, races and social events. Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Tahoe Mountain Milers can sign up by mail downloading, printing and complete one of the following files. WE OFFER ALL OF OUR MEMBERS THE FOLLOWING:
MONTHLY MEETINGS - Joint club and board meetings are held bi-monthly on the third Tuesday. Every other month we schedule a "FUN" event. These often feature adventure runs, HASH runs, full moon runs, guest speakers, films, and of course FOOD! All members and interested individuals are welcome. The location of these meetings and social activities rotate between Carson City and Lake Tahoe.
BI-MONTHLY E-NEWSLETTER - All of our members receive an copy of our e-newsletter, "Running Our Story" featuring race information, fitness and other informative articles, activities calendar, stories from our members about their personal successes or memorable occurrences and much more.
AUTOMATIC ROAD RUNNERS CLUB OF AMERICA MEMBERSHIP - including a subscription to the Road Runners of America quarterly magazine, "Foot Notes".
RACES & RUNS - Members will receive a $5 "early registration" discount at over 10 races hosted by our clubs each year (a few event acceptions apply). We also offer a variety of club sponsored fun runs, group "road trips" for out of town events and race management activities at other races.
CLUB CLOTHING - Included with your membership, and each year upon renewal, you will receive the “club shirt” for the currentyear. This wicking shirt will include our club logos and the logos of our corporate sponsors. Additionally, other logo clothing such as singlets, vest, hats, sweatpants, and sweatshirts are available (depending upon stocking levels).
ACTIVITIES - Track workouts, beginner and novice runs, club picnics and barbecues, trips, social events and adventure runs through some of Lake Tahoe's beautiful forested areas and in nearby Desolation, Granite Chief, Mt. Rose and Moukelumne Wildernesses, and the Meiss Back Country.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT - Team involvement in support of the local benefit events such as the City of South Lake Tahoe Turkey Trot, Carson City Special Olympics and Northern California Special Olympics, the Lake Tahoe Reading Council, the Tahoe Rim Trail Association, the Lake Tahoe Nevada State Parks Backcountry Mountain Bike Safety Patrol, Carson City & Lake Tahoe area school track and cross-country events and more.
